As book champion and reading cheerleader at LAC, I have been encouraging students to choose the best books for the last three years. My favorite job as librarian is to recommend books that inspire a love for reading and get students excited about an engaging story. Free time for me means reading books and book reviews to make sure I am familiar with the possibilities in order to make the perfect match between the reader and the subject.
Besides being the school librarian, I have been assisting as a classroom, math and reading aide in the elementary classrooms. This has given me the opportunity to help students grow in their Catholic faith and support the amazing team of teachers here at the school.
Ludington Area Catholic School is where I spent my early school years and it was very special that my own children were students here as well. Before I dedicated myself to all things literary, I graduated from Ferris State University with a BS in Nuclear Medicine and have also worked as a medical office manager in Grand Rapids. When My husband and I moved with our four kids back to Ludington, I was able to volunteer in the school library before making it an official position in 2017. Besides my love of books, I enjoy biking, hiking, quilting and painting, also tiny things and chickens.
