Mrs. Mary Burden started teaching at Ludington Area Catholic School in 1984. She taught Fourth Grade for six years, Fifth Grade with Sixth Grade English for seven years, and remaining years in Third Grade. She coordinates the Senior Citizen Pen Pal Program, The Fall Arts and Crafts Show, the Spring Indoor Sales Event, has assisted with the Visions Dinner and Auction and Lenten Fish Fry events for over twelve years, is a Eucharistic Minister at St. Simon Church and area nursing homes, and has served on many school-related committees. Mrs. Burden is also very involved in enriching the Ludington community through her involvement with the Ludington Area Jaycees and Michigan Jaycees Senate. She is a strong believer in “Service to humanity is the best work of life”. Mrs. Burden graduated cum laude from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids with a Major in English and a Minor in Reading Kindergarten through Ninth Grade. In the summer and fall, her husband, son, and she enjoy canoeing on the Pere Marquette River.
